劉品言 Iris Liu Ink Realm 新譯「真、善、美」設計哲學 構築生活的永恆尺度

「作為一位設計公司負責人，我認為要先以理性、專業的態度建立清晰的領導風格，才能有效引導團隊前進。」劉品言談到，她在工作中採取的是兼具彈性與溝通的領導模式。

"As the director of a design studio, I believe leadership must begin with professionalism, clarity, and rationality," Liu explains. At HOZHAO, she practices a flexible and communication-driven leadership model that emphasizes shared purpose and collective achievement.
Liu nurtures team creativity, encouraging dialogue and participatory decision-making so each project develops through exchange. She allocates resources based on strengths and adjusts roles per project needs. Through structured communication and clear goals, she guides her team through uncertainties while fostering trust and cohesion.
"Design is not the output of a single mind—it is the result of collective intelligence," she says. This collaborative and growth-oriented culture has become the foundation of HOZHAO's evolution and its expanding international presence.

「對我而言，『真』代表與客戶真誠互動，『善』是善待每一位使用空間的人，而『美』則是為居住者規劃出實用且充滿感受的生活場景。每一個案子，都是這三個價值的實踐。」
在她眼中，國際獎項並非終點，而是一場持續的文化交流。透過與全球設計師的對話，她讓「東方當代設計」的哲學價值被更多人理解，並轉化為有溫度的空間語言，也讓品牌在國際舞台上建立更清晰的文化定位。

"Ink Realm" has received multiple international awards, including the 2025 Asia Pacific Property Award, recognizing not only the project itself but also Hozhao's enduring design philosophy. For Liu, these honors represent platforms for global cultural exchange.
She bases her design thinking on the classical triad of truth, kindness, and beauty—a concept dating back to Roman philosopher Cicero, symbolizing the ideal interdependence of sincerity, goodness, and aesthetic harmony. "In my work, ‘truth' means engaging sincerely with clients; ‘kindness' means caring for every person who uses the space; and ‘beauty' is creating living scenes that are emotionally resonant yet grounded in function," Liu notes.
Each project becomes an opportunity to practice these values, translating Eastern contemporary aesthetics into a universal design language. International recognition, for Liu, is not an endpoint but a dialogue. Through global exchange, she hopes to expand the visibility of Eastern design philosophy, transforming it into spatial experiences filled with warmth, resonance, and cultural depth.

「Less is more」這句源自建築大師 Mies van der Rohe 的經典語錄，也成為她設計思維的核心。「少不是犧牲，而是用最少干預，創造最大的空間自由與感受層次。」她說。對她而言，設計的詩性來自對秩序的克制與細節的尊重，而這份平衡正是東方哲學的當代詮釋，使作品在內斂中展現力量。

"Balance is more than a design principle; it is a way of life," Liu says. Inspired by the Confucian concept of the Doctrine of the Mean, she values moderation, appropriateness, and harmony—finding the right state in any situation.
Her design approach merges minimalist clarity with rich cultural symbolism. Through crisp lines, neutral palettes, and restrained forms, she creates spaces of quiet simplicity, while handcrafted details and cultural motifs provide emotional and historical depth. Using digital techniques and refined craftsmanship, she reinterprets traditional elements in contemporary vocabulary, allowing past and present to coexist in harmony.
The Bauhaus maxim "Less is more," articulated by Mies van der Rohe, forms another cornerstone of her philosophy. " 'Less' is not about sacrificing—it's about using the least intervention to create the greatest spatial freedom and emotional clarity," she emphasizes. For Liu, poetic design emerges from restraint, order, and deep respect for detail. This balanced approach becomes a contemporary expression of Eastern philosophical wisdom.

《Ink Realm》以高齡生活為題，劉品言將「安全舒適」視為設計基礎，「感性美學」為核心原則，透過人本思維重新定義「老有所居」的概念。她指出：「長者的生活空間不只是照護功能，更該保有溫度與記憶。」因此，設計從細節著手：

2.明確導引的空間識別系統
3.溫潤觸感與舒適建材
4.充足自然採光與通風設計
5.可依需求調整用途的家具配置

"Ink Realm" is centered on aging-in-place, redefining elder living with dignity, comfort, and emotional resonance. Liu frames the design around safety as the foundation and emotional aesthetics as the guiding principle.

The project integrates:
1.Barrier-free circulation and safety-focused planning
2.Clear and intuitive wayfinding systems
3.Warm, tactile, and comfortable materials
4.Ample natural light and ventilation
5.Flexible, adaptable furniture configurations

These rational elements address essential needs, while emotional details support memory, identity, and belonging."Elder spaces cannot be purely functional—they must preserve warmth, familiarity, and personal meaning," Liu says. For her, designing senior-friendly environments is not only about care, but respect. Creating spaces where elders feel understood and seen is a responsibility she upholds with intention and sincerity.

International awards bring both motivation and reflection to the Hozhao team.
"They strengthen morale and unity, ensuring every effort is acknowledged," Liu explains. "At the brand level, they reinforce our global presence and showcase the depth and resilience of Eastern design."
Awards mark important milestones, but Liu emphasizes that long-term excellence lies in continued refinement. "We will keep our original intention—working with grace, enjoying the process, and remaining attentive to sustainability and environmental issues."
Through the interweaving of poetics and technology, culture and climate, present and future, Liu creates living environments meant to endure. Her work is not driven by decorative spectacle but by time, nature, and coexistence—crafting spaces that breathe with their inhabitants.
